I've just had a contractor lay a concrete base 4x5 m 100 mm deep for a shed/log cabin. i specified a completely level, flat and smooth base on a sub-bed of hardcore, and dpm inbetween concrete and hardcore. a bit of soil removal was needed as the ground wasn't level.. > i'm trying to figure a way of creating a durable and level base from this > for a new shed (a standard pent 10'x6' with an integral floor). i'd like to > avoid ripping up the old concrete and/or pouring too much new concrete. i'm not clear on whether or not you are indicating that the new shed will over hang the existing concrete base or not.. Never assemble a wooden shed base kit on an unsound base, otherwise, you are running the risk that the screw holes connecting the wall panels will not line up. for larger buildings, especially if youre going to use the shed as a workshop, using a full concrete base as your timber shed base is your best option..
Concrete shed base not level. very helpfull! i needed a shed base pouring and didnt have a clue about concrete, base concrete were very helpfull on the phone and worked out the amount for me.. We have a concrete slab in our back yard, about 15' x 10'. i assume it used to be level, but i am guessing there was some settling underneath and now it is not level. i talked to one contractor who said the whole thing would need to come out and a new slab poured, but i am skeptical.. If your foundation is not level, your shed will eventually sink into the ground and more importantly, will waste your investment. these concrete leveling blocks will support the floor frame. if you do not use concrete leveling blocks, we suggest using pressure treated lumber to support the wooden floor frame..
